Rustic Oak Floating Frame.
This rustic picture frame is designed to hold objects such as keep sakes, feathers, dried flowers, shells, anything that you want to display in a frame that doesn’t need glass.
I get asked to make these often for artists who need to show off their work in a more organic way, you simply need to tack or glue your treasures to the oak back panel.
This reclaimed Oak Frame has been made out of a large beam that I have had milled up into boards, it’s very rustic with signs of its age and wear and tear and has been finished in a clear wax.
The oak backboard is Georgian, it came out of a panelled room in a large property in Hampshire, it is part of the original wall panelling and has a fielded design.
I’ve left the back board unwaxed so glue or tape will stick to it if needed, If you would like me to wax it then please specify when purchasing, along with which way up you would like it to hang.
